The Colorado Bar Association Young Lawyers Division serves young lawyers and law students of Colorado; promotes professional values and involvement in the Bar Association; and provides opportunities for its members to form connections with fellow attorneys, to engage in professional development, and to serve the legal community and the community at large.
We meet the second Wednesday of every month, 6 p.m., at the CBA, 1900 Grant St., 9th floor. Meetings are open and we welcome all young lawyers to attend. Contact Emma Garrison for more information.

The CBA Young Lawyers Division is seeking young lawyers from around the state to join our Executive Council for a term that begins July 1, 2014. The Council consists of 16 members who help to serve the Colorado Bar Association, the community, law schools, local affiliates, and young lawyer members around the state. Executive council members organize networking events, CLEs, and other opportunities for young lawyers to get involved with the bar association. This includes developing ideas for events, marketing and communication opportunities, coordinating with other CBA sections, organizing event logistics, generally promoting the YLD, and reaching out to law schools and young lawyers in the community. Council members are also required to attend monthly board meetings and commit to a two-year term. Applicants who practice outside of Denver are particularly encouraged to apply.
Interested candidates should submit their résumé and a statement of interest (no longer than 1,000 words) outlining their relevant experience and characteristics, and why they would be a valuable addition to a dynamic and dedicated council. Topics for discussion can include projects taken on in other leadership roles, experience planning events, participation in other groups in the legal community or in law school, or any ideas about how the bar association might better serve Colorado’s young lawyers. Submit materials to Emma Garrison no later than April 1, 2014.
